an incorrect Jungian quotation
I just learned that the quote "Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate" is actually not something Carl Jung ever said. It is a paraphrase of his writing in his 1951 book Aion: Researches into the Phenomenology of the Self:
"The psychological rule says that when an inner situation is not made conscious, it happens outside, as fate."
